A building contract is a document required when the repairs to a domestic property are $3300 (inclusive of GST) and above. The contract is a legal requirement in order to comply with legislation for the building works in Queensland.
Most residential building work done in Queensland valued over $3,300 (including labour and materials) must have home warranty insurance. As part of the building process, the builder pays a premium to the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) to insure the construction. The amount is included as part of your contract, and is paid before any work begin.
Repairs will commence at your property once all paperwork has been signed, returned and processed and any applicable excess paid. From this point work orders will be issued to our valued trades who will make contact to discuss an appropriate time and day for repairs to commence. Prime Building Australia will always make it our mission to complete repairs as quickly as possible and we will actively manage the works in progress to ensure this result.
Your insurance policy may have a policy excess to collect prior to any works commencing. This excess can be paid directly to your insurer or to Prime Building Australia if you receive a request. Once the excess is received by your insurer or Prime Building Australia works will commence.
Yes, our written quote is for a fixed price. In some circumstances, however damage that is unforeseen or hidden from view may only be evident once the repair process commences. Prime Building Australia will provide further information on this damage as soon as it is uncovered along with detailed pictures and a scope of works for the further repairs.
All trades are required to clean up their own site rubbish every time they attend. In most circumstances trades will provide drop sheets in order to ensure the property is protected whilst within the building repair process.
Constant and consistent updates will be provided as long as proposed estimated completion dates. Works will sometimes be delayed due to materials or weather; however Prime Building Australia will endeavour to update and provide new estimated completion dates if these delays occur.
